“The Grace Card,” a film about race relations, is being produced in Memphis and they’re looking for lots and lots of extras for filming Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 – here’s the info I have:
Their biggest challenge: recruitment of African-Americans for the big church scenes on October 17 and October 24. Both scenes will take place at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church at 2390 Chelsea Ave. At this point, they still need over 100 extras for October 17.
Here are the important steps to recruitment:
1. African-Americans only.
2. Each person must commit to a 6-8 hour presence at the church.
3. Each person should wear attire fit for a Sunday morning service.
4. Each person should plan to bring a sack lunch or snacks and one or two bottles of water.
Each person should email their information to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 386-8988 and ask for the production office.
The staff will add information on interested persons to the list of extras for the desired day of filming. At this point, we just need a commitment to be present and accurate contact information. Upon arrival, each person will need to sign a release. The staff will do their best to keep the day exciting and fun for all involved. Needless to say, the music is going to be incredible.
If you know of an African-American congregation that may be willing to assist with this scene, please let us know.
Wendi speaking now: This is all the info I have – so if you’re interested, contact them!
